The top-seeded Sharapova crashed out of the French Open after Dinara Safina, beat her 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-5) 6-2. Two tie-breakers shows a hard-fought match and so it was and it was only Sharapova herself who gave it away in the second set after being 5-2 at one time.

Rafael Nadal is proving to be pretty much AUTOMATIC when it comes to Tennis on Clay. When he beat Federer at Hamburg a few weeks before the French Open, the stats read Nadal 102 out of 104 won on clay. Now that's what you call automatic.

Sania Mirza is the Indian tennis revolution and does have the potential to be bigger than Leander Paes & Mahesh Bhupathi who weren't really great singles players. They were a marvelous doubles team but at last India do have someone who could be their singles tennis superstar.

The Australian Open 2008 was hit with its first major shock with Andy Roddick going out in a thrilling 5-setter against Philipp Kohlschreiber, the German. The score for the record, 4-6 6-3 6-7 (8-10) 7-6 (7-3) 6-8.
